The Careers in Agriculture Scholarship program is available to high school graduates and first or second year college students pursuing two- or four-year degrees in agronomy, crop production, or closely related fields. Applications are available on the internet at WinfieldSolutionsLLC.com. Application deadline is Feb. 1.

The following students will be gone to CRC and District One Acts this Wednesday and Monday, November 30. They should get their assignments. U.S. Bank Internet Scholarship Program - The U.S. Bank will award forty $1,000 scholarship to high school seniors planning to enroll next fall at an eligible four-year college or university participating in the U.S. Bank No Fee Education Loan Program. Winners are selected through a random drawing process. Further details, including college or university eligibility, can be found at usbank.com/studentloans

The Nebraska State College System is offering three scholarship programs for high school seniors to attend Chadron, Peru or Wayne State Colleges in the fall of 2010. The Board of Trustees' scholarships are full-tuition worth nearly $15,000 for four years. To qualify, you must have at least a 25 composite on the ACT and you must be enrolled in one of the schools. See Mr. Wilbeck for an application. Deadline is January 15.

The Davis-Chambers Scholarship recognizes academically promising students who often find that financial requirements of postsecondary education are a major obstacle. This scholarship provides up to $2,000 financial assistance based on the FAFSA form. To be eligible you must have at least a 3.0 gpa, enroll full-time at Chadron, Peru or Wayne State College, and complete and submit an estimated FAFSA. Application deadline is January 15. See Mr. Wilbeck if interested.

The Nebraska Press Association Foundation will award $2,000 scholarships for the 2010-2011 school year for students planning to enroll in post-secondary educational programs in Nebraska-based colleges and universities leading to careers in print journalism. The Governors Opportunity Award is a half-tuition scholarship for Chadron, Peru or Wayne State Colleges. To be eligible the applicant must satisfy all of the following requirements: Score between 21 and 24 on the ACT, enroll as a full-time student at Chadron, Peru or Wayne State, be a resident of Nebraska, and submit an essay. See Mr. Wilbeck if interested. Application deadline is December 1.

Interested in Electronics? - Careers in the field of electronics are strong and getting stronger all the time. In 2008, 126 job openings were available for EST students. The average starting wage for the 17 SCC graduates was nearly $19/hour. There are several ways to obtain a degree in Electronic Systems Technology at SCC. Consider - Two year degree average starting salary is $40,000. Four year degree average starting salary is $45,000. Assuming total cost of $10,000 for the two year degree and $10,000 per year for a four year degree. Remember you are in the work force two years earlier. Maynard Jensen American Legion Scholarship The Maynard Jensen American Legion Scholarship is a $500 scholarship for students planning on enrolling in a Nebraska educational facility of higher learning. Applicants must be sons or daughters, grandchildren or great-grandchildren, adopted or stepchildren of members of the American Legion or POW, MIA, KIA, or any veteran that was a current Legion member at time of death. Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship Awards - The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce their 41st annual National Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship Awards for students completing twelfth grade in 2010 who are planning careers in government service. Each interested student is invited to write a one-page essay stating why he or she plans a career in government service including any inspiration to be derived from the leadership of George Washington in his famous crossing of the Delaware. Winners receive an all expenses paid weekend, including transportation and housing, in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, to attend the Scholarship Awards Ceremony. All winners must attend the Scholarship Awards Program on Saturday, April 24, 2010 to win their scholarship. See Mr. Wilbeck if interested.

Nebraska Machinery Company - offers students who wish to become Heavy Construction and Agricultural Diesel Technicians, an opportunity to attend Central Community College in Hastings.
