Fresh from the the books at Kearney State College, I traveled west to begin a  new chapter in my life. I had been hired to teach 8th grade English and take on the duties of the media specialist--a new term at the time. There was a push to use technology, as there is today. The difference was...it was important that all teachers use overhead projector, lots of filmstrips, and the VCR.  During my first

year, an elementary library was created. The following year, the library was housed in the new addition that had been built for it.

Since arriving in Exeter, I have taught junior-high English, Applied English, and mediated Spanish. I have served as cheerleader sponsor. My current assignment is librarian for the elementary and high school in  Exeter and the library  at the Milligan site. I meet with the elementary children weekly. My extra duty is directing the spring play.

I like children literature, and I like Arthur. Marc Brown’s creation visited us in a convocation.
